For kids during summertime:

Library of Garðabær Summer reading program.
This year we are introducing our magnificent Reading Dragon, designed by illustrator Iðunn Arna who will be on all our summer reading material and displayed at the children‘s department.

What is Summer Reading?
Summer Reading is a reading initative that encourages children to read during the summer break so the do not lose their reading skills over the school summer break. The children set reading goals, record their reading in their reading diary and receice a sticker for each book they read. They can then fill out a comment form that they return to our magic box at the library, from which the Reading Dragon of the week will be drawn out every Thursday at 12pm, and will receive a book as a prize.

We encourage parents and guardians to take advantage of the library this summer and help their children set their reading goals.
